When my father’s life was taken as a result of an accident, I was lucky to find a creative outlet to help me heal. He was my world and remains with me in everything I do, which is why I am so proud to dedicate donni charm in his honor and memory.  It has been no small battle to cope with his passing, but in the process donni charm has allowed me to inspire others who have experienced loss by enabling them to duplicate a positive healing process.

I have always had a passion for fashion.  As a coping mechanism, I decided to try my hand at scarves.  I returned to college that fall and gave a close friend one of the first scarves created.  Through the support of friends and family, we began selling at trunk shows and the scarves thrived.  I watched donni charm take on a whole new meaning. 

Naming the project was the easiest yet most heartfelt step of the process. Those close to my father affectionately called him “Donny,” and as my mother later pointed out, I was his good luck charm… thus, “donni charm” was created. The scarves wrap around me like the arms of his hug, and the charms hang close to my heart where he will always remain. 

As the demand grew, after a few short months, I could no longer hand cut all of the scarves that were ordered.  We began to manufacture and that is when the company truly took off. Celebrities like Jessica Biel, Beyonce, Vanessa Hudgens, Rihanna, Jessica Alba, and many more have all been seen wearing donni charm.

 

The good luck scarves I have created are soft and cozy and add style to any outfit.  Rarely does anything coveted in the fashion industry have an inspirational story behind it.   That is what makes donni charm so distinct.  The good luck charms, sentimental meaning and representing a lost loved one separate donni charm from other lines.  I have received numerous emails and letters from people telling me how my story and donni charm has helped them through difficult losses in their lives.  Their stories help feed my passion and drive.   

Team donni’s goals are motivated by the true meaning behind donni charm. We aim to remain unique and sophisticated, but always with a dash of fun, as my father Donny lived every day of his life.

With boutique locations across the USA and internationally, we’ve come further than we ever could have anticipated!  And the Journey has just begun…
